Access Level Abuse of Alcohol or Drug Use
Criteria For Alcohol or Drug Abuse In the past 12 months, has your , or a loved one’s, drinking or drug use repeatedly caused or contributed to one or more of the following: - risk of bodily harm (drinking and drug use while driving, operating machinery, swimming)
- relationship trouble (anger, conflict, family or friends)
- role failure (interference with home, work, or school obligations)
- run-ins with the law (arrests or other legal problems)
If yes to one or more you, or your loved one, may have a problem with alcohol or drug abuse.
Criteria for Alcohol Drug Dependence.
In the past 12 months, have you, or a loved one, experienced three or more of the following with respect to your drinking or drug use:
- not been able to cut down or control use (repeated failed attempts)
- not been able to limit alcohol or drug consumption (repeatedly lost control)
- shown tolerance (needed to drink more or use more of the drug over time to get the same effect)
- shown signs of withdrawal (tremors, sweating, nausea, or insomnia when trying to quit or cut down or using to avoid withdrawal symptoms)
- kept drinking or using drugs despite health or psychological problems (recurrent physical, relationship, legal, anger management, DUI problems)
- spent a lot of money, resources and time seeking and using alcohol or drugs (or recovering from the effects of use)
- spent less time on other important matters (family, friends, work or activities)
If yes to three or more, you, or your loved may have a problem with alcohol or drug dependence.
